Dekeli and ZTE released new optical modules to fill the gap in 100GBase high-speed BIDI products

DEKLE Optoelectronics and ZTE jointly released two optical module products for the next-generation network architecture——100G QSFP28 Single Lambda LR1/ER1 BIDI. It fills the market gap of 100GBase high-speed BIDI products. Compared with the existing conventional dual-fiber QSFP28 LR4 products, the 100G QSFP28 Single Lambda BIDI optical module has a higher integration level, which effectively improves the fiber utilization and greatly saves fiber resources. In addition, this product also has the characteristics of low power consumption, small size, high cost performance, etc., and has strong market competitiveness and excellent late-mover advantages.

The new 100G single-wavelength BIDI optical module follows the 100G single Lambda MSA standard, adopts standard QSFP28 optical module package and single-channel LC fiber interface, and realizes single-fiber bidirectional full-duplex business mode. The electrical port side complies with the IEEE 802.3bm CAUI-4 standard, adopts 4*25G NRZ coded signals, and is fully compatible with the existing 100G QSFP28 dual-fiber solution electrical port side. The optical port side is a 53.125GBd baud rate (bit rate 106.25Gb/s) PAM4 encoded signal. The DSP integrated with FEC converts 4 channels of NRZ electrical signals into a single channel of PAM4 optical signals to complete signal conversion, shaping and signal-to-noise ratio optimization. The TDECQ and sensitivity curves are significantly better than the protocol requirements of 100GBase LR1/ER1, and the design margin is sufficient, which fully guarantees the long-distance error-free transmission of 106.25Gb/s optical signals. Relying on the fully hermetic packaged optical components independently developed and produced by Dekeli Optoelectronics, this product meets the GR-468 reliability standard and supports carrier-class medium and long-distance transmission scenarios. The application demonstration has been completed in the ZTE 5G optical device laboratory.
